1. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is known to have anti-fungal, anti-viral, antibacterial and moisturizing properties.This helps to soothe the irritated and inflamed skin. Additionally, regular application of this oil can help keep a check on the growth of yeast. After you’ve washed and wiped the affected area thoroughly, apply some coconut oil over the affected area and leave for about 20 to 30 minutes. Do this thrice daily.
This powerful ingredient has strong antifungal activity against Candida species. This makes it a great and easy home remedy for yeast infection. It also adds great aroma and flavor to dishes like no other ingredient. However, include plenty of garlic in your diet to fight the overgrowth of yeast. Take two to four cloves in a day.
Crush and grind the cloves with enough water to make a paste. Apply on the affected area for eight to 10 minutes. Rinse with water. Apply this once a day. But do not use the garlic paste on sensitive areas such as the vag and inner thighs.
3. Epsom salt
It can help inhibit the growth of infection causing yeast. Add around two cups of this salt to your bath tub filled with warm water. Soak yourself in it for at least 20 minutes. You can also try adding one cup Epsom salt to a bucket filled with hot water and wash your vagina with this water. Do this twice a week.
4. Aloe vera
Aloe gel is very cool. Due to this, it will ease the irritation and also alleviate the inflammation in the affected area. It also contains different antiseptic agents that prevent the growth of fungi and bacteria. Get a fresh aloe leaf. Extract the gel from the leaf. Apply this freshly extracted gel in a thin layer over the affected area. Allow to air-dry before washing off. Reapply twice or thrice a day.
5. Tea tree oil and honey
Tea tree oil has anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It helps soothe chaffed, dry and inflamed skin. Honey, on the other hand, acts as a natural moisturizer, providing further relief. Add 2 to 3 drops of tea tree essential oil and one tablespoon honey in a mug of warm water. Stir well and then soak a soft organic tampon into this solution. Place in the vagina and leave overnight. Follow this for a couple of nights until you find relief from the symptoms.
It helps to maintain the optimal pH balance of the vag. It also builds immunity and thereby prevent any bacteria or yeast from thriving in the vag area. Increase consumption of yogurt in your daily diet. You could also dip a tampon in some home-made yogurt and place it in your vag.
