Reduce talking when eating
Meal times are not time for conversation hence talking with food in the mouth should be avoided. Talking with food in the mouth causes swallowing of air with food which in turn causes bloating.
Drink after eating
Avoid carbonated drinks after eating. They contain loads of gas that causes bloating. It is therefore advisable to avoid those drinks after one is done eating his or her meal.
Relax after eating
Relax for 10 – 15 minutes after eating. This helps reduce bloating and indigestion. Resume daily activities after this 10-15 minutes of relaxation.
Avoid late night eating
Eat at least 4 hours earlier before your sleeping time; to avoid feeling bloated when you wake up the following morning.
Avoid cigarettes, coffee and alcohol
Alcohol, coffee and cigarettes are hindrances to digestion. They must must be avoided at all times to reduce digestion difficulties.
Aspirin and its derivatives causes irritation of the gastrointestinal lining. So therefore, these medications must be reviewed by your physician if you are suffering digestion difficulties.
